NEW NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks + Swatches

 Generation Beauty LA presented by Ipsy just passed and lots of lucky ladies were among the first to try NYX Cosmetics new Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks. It's their new liquid lipstick that will be launching sometime this month. Liquid lipstick has flooded the market this year from different brands with various price points. NYX already has their Soft Matte Lip Creams so what do these new liquid lipsticks have to offer?

These lipsticks first made a sneak peek during the Met Gala when Ashley and Mary Kate Olsen wore the nude shade Soft Spoken. This caused quite a little frenzy as beauty bloggers and makeup junkies alike wanted to know more. You can see them both wearing the shade here:

Little information has been released so far but I was able to gather all the shade names for you guys. The Liquid Suede lipsticks will be released with 12 shades:
  • Life's a Beach, coral
  • Orange County, orange
  • Vintage, bright red
  • Kitten Heels, burgundy
  • Sway, lavender
  • Amethyst, purple
  • Stone Fox, gray
  • Pink Lust, hot pink
  • Tea & Cookies, blush/pinky nude 
  • Soft Spoken, light nude
  • Sandstorm, dark nude
  • Cherry Skies, dark red
NYX gave a sneak peek via Snapchat and here are screen shots of all the shades:

The missing shades not swatched above are Soft Spoken, which can be viewed above on the Olsen Twins, along with Amethyst, Sway and Tea & Cookies all pictured below.

Here you can see a comparison of the two nude shades, Sandstorm and Soft Spoken, with what I believe is the burgundy shade, Kitten Heels. And also more lip swatches for Orange County, Sandstorm, Stone Fox, Tea & Cookies and Cherry Skies below.

Now I wasn't able to get a definitive answer on how the Liquid Suede lipsticks differ from the Soft Matte Creams so we'll have to wait and see about that. But I can tell you these do in fact dry matte. Tamara M. said, “Yes [they dry matte]. They go on a little wet and you have to be super careful not to smudge it or it will get messy. But once it's on, it's really on.” These are rumored to retail for $7 each, which would make them the most expensive lipstick the brand has with prices ranges from $5-6.50. However, this is still significantly lower from popular brands like Anastasia Beverly Hills, which sells their liquid lipsticks for $20 each. Kathryn (aka @permiasorella) said these lippies do dry matte but some have a satin/semi-matte finish. Drying time is 1-5 minutes depending on the shade. They are very lightweight and applied without any issues except for four shades, which applied streaky. But they are very comfortable once dry and extremely waterproof. Will stain your skin but not your lips though. They lasted about 8hrs through meals and drinks. She also mentioned that because the ingredients include glycerin, olive oil and avocado they keep your lips slightly moisturized. She didn't notice any transfer when drinking from a glass or kissing but if your rub it off it will.
