Kat Von D Ayesha & Echo Everlasting Liquid Liptick
I wasn't planing on purchasing any of the new Kat Von D liquid lipsticks because they're permanent. There was so much limited edition makeup being released that I figured permanent collections could wait. Recently, however, I went into Sephora just to "look" and I swatched all the shades. So of course I had to pick up at least one so I got two. I picked up Ayesha and Echo, not only because I love the shades, but mostly because I wanted to compare it to other shades in my collection.
Ayesha
rich lavender
This is a very unique shade of lavender. I would describe it as a more pale, muted lavender due to the grey tint it has. I don't own anything like it nor have I seen anything similar so of course I had to try this shade being a purple lipstick lover. See how it compares to Blow Pony here with comparison swatches as well.

I wore this shade for 6-8 hours without any issues. It did fade slightly in the center but I reapplied on the faded area without any issues. No flaking or rolling occurred. Here's a comparison of my latest lip purchases of newly released purple shades:

I heard so many bad reviews about this shade that my excitement for it died down and I was really not even going to buy it anymore. But with Sephora's excellent return policy I figured it couldn't hurt for me to try the shade out for myself.

The first thing I noticed is it needed two layers for it to be even and it didn't look as pigmented as I thought it would. But once it dried the color was darker and more like what I was expecting. It was also easier to see any areas that needed a little more product. So I suggest allowing the first layer to fully dry before applying another. I wore it out for hours, ate, drank and only saw minimal fading in the center of my lips. And it wasn't even as much as other liquid lipsticks I've tried. I didn't have any issues with flaking. After hours of wear when I applied another layer I later noticed some rolling going on but not much. And this is probably because those areas had three or four layers as opposed to two. But even still no flaking whatsoever. So while the formula on this color isn't perfect it's far from the horror story I was led to believe. If you're a fan of blue lips you should definitely give this shade a try. It's not like any of the darker blues I currently own. (See comparisons swatches below.)

Echo is a little darker than my swatch appears due to the lighting but this full face pic gives a more accurate look.

These are my first Kat Von D liquid lipsticks. They're long lasting and dry completely matte quickly without making your lips feel/look super dry. I love the applicator. It's smaller than most doe-foot applicators I have encountered but I think this allows for more control. It helps that it doesn't pick up too much product and it's a liquid that's not as watery as say Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipsticks. That makes it easier to work with especially if you want precise lines without using a lip brush. Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks can be purchased from Sephora and retail at $18 each.

Happy Hunting!
